I didn't expected much due to its price, but still, there's not much to play, no variation of anything (level, enemies, items, characters maybe?) and its way too repetitive.. An endless roguelike shooter similar to The Binding of Isaac but not as fun due to the slow painful gameplay & minimal content. Don't get me wrong I love retro games as much as the next guy who still plays his NES, but even this boring indie game isn't even worth the 59 cents I pay for.. Boring, repetitive, and somewhat confusing. It's definately not worth the $0.59 I paid for it. At most somebody could get around 5-10 minutes of fun out of it before realizing there's literally only one room with the only difference being barrel and turret placement. That and the music. I understand this game is trying to mimic old school Atari and Nintendo games, but they could at least try to make the music less iritating.. Put very simply: this game is terrible.- There is literally only one room. The turrets, barrels, and enemies spawn in different random locations, that's the only difference.- Tiny selection of enemies but it DOESN'T EVEN MATTER. They're just different sprites for one enemy. What do I mean? The enemy is just programmed to move towards you at a constant speed. That's it.- Beat every level just by walking in a circle and shooting behind you.- Only one music track, which loops, and possibly overlaps which makes it sound broken and even more irritating.- There aren't even "levels", technically speaking. "Levels" implies some form of progression, but all that happens when you clear a room is you start another room. It may be more or less difficult, more or less populated, etc. There is only one thing you could consider progression:- There is a shop, which is the most ridiculously thought out shop in a game that I've ever seen. To give some perspective, there are always the same 4 items to buy: health 10 gold, magic 15g, shield 20g, "hat" 50g. You usually get 0-3 gold per room, so all of these prices are pretty high, especially when you consider:A) The health and magic potions can be collected in each roomB) You can magic up some healthC) Magic regenerates quicklyD) You can magic up a shieldE) And the "hat" is an upright red \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665.- Shoot by clicking per shot, meaning you shoot as rapidly as you can click, meaning if you are a person with:A) Fast clicking skill, every level's a piece of cake, hardly have to moveB) Slow clicking skill, or hand impairment, this game is pretty unplayableC) Possession of rapid-click software: see point A- Oh, and enemies often spawn inside you causing immediate hits.- And most of the positive reviews seem completely fake. Some even lie outright, such as "get achievements", er, no?If you're considering buying this as something to enjoy, just look elsewhere.If you're considering buying this for the Steam cards like I did, just leave this game to run in the background, there's just no point in playing it.P.S. Why did I write this essay? Passes the time while I wait for the Steam cards to drop, then I'll uninstall and probably never download it again. I'm actually shooting myself in the foot by writing this review, because with fewer people buying it, fewer people will get the cards to trade and fewer booster drops will occur, but this game is just so bad. Also, it's been over 3 hours now and I've only got 3 of the 4 Steam cards, pretty slow when you consider they usually drop every half hour. EDIT: took 4.5 hours in the end,Final thoughts: One of the few games I actually regret buying. Heck, if this was a free online game, I'd have stopped playing after a handful of rooms.. You are in a completely black-floored room with grey brick walls.You move with asdw.You shoot by aiming with the mouse and clicking until your finger explodes.You open barrels by clicking on them when you're close enough.Weird markings on the wall constantly shoot arrows across the screen.There are several enemies. And by 'enemies', I mean 'sprites'. They all move exactly the same speed and deal the same touch damage.Whenever you kill all the enemies in a room, you get the chance to move to the next room.By 'the next room', I mean an identical black floor, grey brick wall square with a randomized series of arrow shooters, enemies, and barrels. No, wait, this room has BROWN walls! WHAT VARIETY.Or maybe you find a useless shop. Not like you'll have found the gold to buy anything.The shop is also the same 'room'.It's entirely possible to get multiple shops in a row. Including as your FIRST EVER ROOM, when you have literally no gold. And ALSO your SECOND EVER ROOM, when you STILL have literally no gold. This did indeed happen to me.Enemies can and will spawn practically on top of you.If you save up for "hat", it's a big red phallic shape on your head.And finally, the spells you have can be changed using 1234. But heal is the only useful one so why bother?. I buy this game cuz for discount. Good music.Feels like the beginnings of something interesting. I hope they develop it to add something good.Can't really recommend it as it is, even if it was free. Almost any other game you could play is better than this.. This is advertised as a roguelike but this advertising is misleading. This is more of a bullet-hell style game where you sit in a room and dodge obstacles while shooting the enemies that slowly move towards you. You can pick up some gold from some barrels, then you press "E" to get another "procedurally generated" room.The term "procedural generation" is very loosely used here. The map generator just changes the positions of things in the same room every time. This game has a huge amount of negative reviews and it's completely understandable. There's probably about 30-60 seconds worth of gameplay all up. The gameplay is so limited I can't even think of any better substitutes, as there just isn't enough gameplay to start to build a comparison. Every other game ever made has more depth!. It's not a BAD game, it's not the best game ever either.It's a nice little time waster, but it gets boring after awhile. I mean, I still like it and its a game I can pick up at anytime. Maybe add some extra stuff to make the game even more enjoyable.Overall, not bad. 6/10. nice little arcade game to play to kill some time
